The Sea of Japan is known for incredible fish. Its thanks to a combination of nutrient rich waters, calm bays, and of course the people who catch them for us. Try working with the professionals, casting and hauling nets from the shores of Amanohashidate. The catch will be brought to a nearby residence where you’ll get to eat with locals and learn about the history of the fishing industry and other stories from the region.

Location: Amanohashidate Beach (Amanohashidate Activity Center)

Access: On the far side of Amanohashidate land bridge, 3.2km from Amanohashidate Station.
